Established in 1954, Mount Vernon Park is a non-profit, member association located at the corner of Lafayette Drive and Fairfax Road in Hollin Hall Village. Please note memberships are not based on local home ownership and are not transferable.
Set on nearly 13 acres of wooded parkland, the Park is the focus of summer activity for 600 families. MVP members enjoy 3 pools (25 meter, 50 meter and wading), 4 lighted tennis courts (open year round), a large picnic area with grills, grass volleyball court, a children’s playground, a covered pavilion, and a 1 acre pond for fishing. The Park, pavilion and swimming pools open on Memorial Day weekend and close after Labor Day. The tennis and pickleball courts are available to members with a purchased key year round.
Operating hours once schools are out in late June are generally 11 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday and Noon to 9 PM on Sunday through Labor Day. Always check the calendar and main page for possible changes to Park hours.
During the summer season, MVPA is a center of activity. Our swim team, ages 5 through 18, competes in the Northern Virginia Swim League. The Women‘s, Girl’s and Boy’s tennis teams compete in the Mount Vernon Community Tennis League.
Throughout the summer, the MVPA Activities Committee sponsors activities for all ages including a 4th July Celebration, Crab Feast, End of School pizza dance party, children’s crafts and more. Our Aqua Aerobics classes and early morning Masters Adult Swim program are also ways to stay active.

In addition, currently the yearly membership fee due by March 31 for 2023 is $613.00 plus $86.00 for each member over 1 year of age by June 1st. Through our work day program, $125 of your dues is refundable (see below). Arrangements can also be made for childcare providers to have park access while with member children and the fee is $86 per season per provider. Dues are prorated if you join during the season.
Included in the yearly dues is a capital improvements fee of $175 per membership certificate per year. This helps us to maintain, renovate and improve the Park. Adult members age 16+ may help out for 8 hours at our Work Days over 2 weekends in late April/early May to earn back $125 of their family’s dues each year. $125 is the maximum that can be earned per membership annually.
Please be sure to review our Rules and Regulations and By-laws before applying.
Once you’re offered a membership, your initiation fee and dues are paid online by credit card. Then you may register for various activities and buy guest passes and snack bar tickets online with a credit card. Checks and credit cards are accepted at the gatehouse, however, purchasing online with a credit card is faster and preferred.
