VOLUNTEERS

The continued success of the Association depends on the participation of you the member. Serving on a committee, helping to plan our activities, projects, and events will guarantee their success. We need your help, so if you would like to become involved or have any questions, please contact any of the Board members or Committee chairs. The link to volunteering is on our Home page.

WORK DAY REFUNDS

Readying MVP for the season is a big job—and helping out is a great way to make summer come faster. Each membership has an opportunity annually to earn back up to $125 of their dues by helping out at the park for 8 hours during organized “Work Days” in late April and early May. There are occasionally opportunities in the fall. Work Days are announced in email blasts and on Facebook and the Park website home page.

  • Members must be age 16+ and sign in and out to receive credit hours.
  • Please do not bring children younger than 12 to the Park during Work Days.
  • Do feel free to bring your own work gloves, garden tools or other supplies with you.
  • Work Day credits are $62.50 for 4 hours or $125 for 8 hours – paid by check mailed after the Work Day.
  • Members are encouraged to volunteer for as many work days as they want, but the maximum amount annually that can be earned is $125 for performing 8 hours of work.

PARTIES

See the Forms page for an online party registration form.  All parties with fewer than 50 people must be approved by the Manager prior to the date of your event. Parties with more than 50 people must be approved in advance by the Board of Directors. To make a reservation to hold a party at the Park, click on this Party Reservation Form, fill out the online form.  Pay guest fees by check at the gatehouse during your party.

SWIM LESSONS

Please pre-coordinate your lesson with the swim instructor of your choice. Pay on-line and bring our receipt to your lesson to give it to the instructor.  As a reminder, ALL lesson fees are paid online.  Payment is never directly to the instructor. Make sure to give instructor your receipt at time of lesson. Group Lesson fees are due at the time of registration.

TENNIS LESSONS

Clinic dates will be posted on the website and on the Bulletin Board. If you would like to set up a private or semi-private lesson you can do so with our tennis professionals for an additional fee.

TENNIS AND PICKLEBALL COURT RESERVATIONS

Please book your court online to ensure you can play. The courts are very popular. Reservations are available for all four courts for tennis, outside of scheduled clinics and team matches. Courts 3 and 4 each have two pickleball courts and each of the four pickleball courts can be individually reserved.

PARK-SPONSORED ACTIVITIES

Check online calendar for this season’s adult and children’s activities. Events don’t happen without your help.  The link to sign up to volunteer is on the Home page.

Please remember that parental supervision for all children’s activities is required. No drop-offs allowed.

PARKING

Once again we ask you to always be considerate of our neighbors and do not park near MVPA’s entrance on Fairfax Road or Lafayette Drive.

PARK SECURITY

The Board of Directors is strongly committed to prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law anyone found vandalizing or trespassing in the Park. If you have any questions or suggestions concerning security, call Jasper Thomson at 703 820-6525 or email him at jrthomson14@gmail.com.

Many thanks are due to the Board of Directors, the Administrative Staff and all our volunteers, for their involvement in and support of the Association. It takes all of our talents joined together and a great deal of our time and hard work to make sure that all members have a wonderful place to enjoy their summer.
