Adult Stroke of the Week

Tennis Board Member: Erik Milito,, 202-374-8010

This summer we will offer two levels of stroke of the week. We have Stroke of the Week—Beginner, for those who have never played or have less experience, and Stroke of the Week for those who play, but want to hone their skills.

Stroke of the Week is a coed clinic where coach(s) demonstrate and instruct a particular tennis stroke to participants. Players participate in drills designed to practice the particular stroke. The clinic concludes with game style play such as, king/queen of the court. Advanced Stroke may use the Ball machine to facilitate the drills.

Duration is 1 hour.

Maximum number of participants is 12 per court and instructor. The instructor feeds balls to 2 lines of players on one side of court during practice drills. During king/queen of court there are 2 lines on each side of the court.

The class rotates through strokes, one per week:

  • Forehand
  • Backhand
  • Volley
  • Serve
  • Overhead

Sessions are June 20, June 27, July 11, 18 and 25.  Only current members may sign up.
